Inverter-Based Resource Performance Issues

On March 14, 2023, NERC issued a Level 2 alert to the industry focused on inverter-based resource performance issues for Generator Owners (GOs).

This alert was issued after NERC analyzed multiple large-scale bulk power system (BPS) disturbances. These disturbances involved the loss of inverter-based resources, specifically solar PV resources. The recommendations by NERC should be reviewed and implemented by GOs of BES solar PV resources, and are highly recommended for owners of all BPS-connected solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Included in this alert is a request for a large amount of data that must be provided by June 30, 2023. The requested data will very likely involve the cooperation and participation of your inverter manufacturers.
